At 10:00 AM today BISE Gujranwala released the SSC Part-I result. The candidate pool sits above 135000 students based on last year’s numbers. No other board in Punjab manages six districts at once. Few handle a group this large.
The six districts are Gujranwala Sialkot Gujrat Narowal Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin. They stretch from steel foundries and surgical instrument workshops to rice paddies. Today’s result covers six different regional stories under one board.

Every Punjab board faces heavy website traffic on result day. Gujranwala’s version is simply bigger. More than 500 exam centers feed into one system.
The gazette PDF listing every candidate’s marks school by school runs 40 to 80 MB. It is among the heaviest in the province because it covers six districts. Teachers who need an entire class’s results should download the file over Wi-Fi and open it in a dedicated PDF reader. Browser search can struggle with a file that size.
If the website is slow in the first hour that is normal. Six districts of families refresh the same page at the same time. The SMS shortcode 800299 runs on separate systems and usually holds up better under load.
A Board Shaped by Industry and Agriculture
BISE Gujranwala’s boundaries follow Punjab’s manufacturing corridor. Sialkot is the surgical instruments and sports goods export hub. Gujarat focuses on fans, ceramics and pottery. Gujranwala itself is built around steel and foundry work.
Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin remain largely agricultural. All six districts sit under the same board and the same exam paper.
This means the Gujranwala Board result is not a uniform outcome. An industrial export hub like Sialkot sits alongside agricultural districts like Hafizabad. School infrastructure, competing demands on students’ time and local economies differ across the board. If your district’s performance looks different from the board-wide numbers, that is expected.
The Number That Matters: 63.10 Percent
Last year 135810 students appeared for the 9th class exam. 85696 passed. The pass rate was 63.10 percent.
Set against other Punjab boards that is a comparatively strong result. A board managing this scale and still posting a pass rate above 60 percent shows the system holds up on the most important measure.
If your own percentage feels low next to a friend’s result from a smaller single district board remember boards are not graded on a shared curve. Judge your result against Gujranwala’s own track record.
Position Holders and Timing
Gujranwala typically announces its position holders, the top three scorers in Science and Humanities a day ahead of the general result. Those top spots have historically clustered around schools in Gujranwala city, Sialkot and Gujrat the three largest urban centers.
If you are outside those three districts, the concentration reflects resource distribution across an uneven six district board. It does not reflect a gap in ability.
The Punjab government has raised the cash prize for matric toppers to Rs 100000. That list is more consequential than before but it was never meant to be the benchmark every student uses.
What Comes Next for Every Student
The next steps are the same whether you are in a Sialkot export industry family or a Hafizabad farming household.
If every subject cleared the 40 percent threshold, which is 220 out of 550 marks, your 9th class score now sits with next year’s 10th class marks in the final matric calculation. A solid Part-I result gives you room for next year.

If a specific subject’s marks look wrong, rechecking is open for 15 days from today. Rechecking corrects totaling and unmarked answers. It does not re-grade the paper from scratch.
